This petite engine is very easy to use and keep clean. It peels, cores and slices an apple in 5 seconds, the faster you crank the handle, the better.

The peeler comes ready to peel, core and slice but you can convert the setting to core and slice or peel only.

****Important: Read the hand-operated before using the peeler because you'll have to align the peeling and cutting blades (turning the screw clockwise increases the angle of the peeling arm). Also, make sure that the slicing blade is fully centered and that the fork, which holds the apple, passes cleanly straight through the coring ring). If you use the engine without aligning it first, the blade will peel way too thickly and the corer/slicer will not work properly.

The peeling blade, slicer and corer are quite sharp, but you never touch those parts when processing the apples.

I am giving it 3 stars because the peeling arm has to be adjusted to adapt dissimilar apple sizes. This wouldn't be a qoute if one didn't have to reach for a screwdriver every time. Also, centering the slicing blade/fork is a bit of a pain.
